Alexandria Ramsey LPC
Hi, I'm Alexandria Ramsey LPC, but you may call me Allie. I know it can be tough to reach out for support, especially if you're dealing with challenges like unhealthy relationships, anxiety, or life transitions. Please know that you're not alone in what you're going through, and it's okay to seek help when you need it. In our sessions, you will find a space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to make the changes you want in your life.
I help empower individuals to take control of their lives by supporting them in setting healthy boundaries, practicing effective communication, and creating a safe, supportive space to do so. My approach is individualized, focusing on your unique strengths and resources to help you move forward in a way that aligns with your goals. Using evidence-based approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I am here to help you build resiliency to take on whatever challenges in life you are facing, learn how to set and maintain healthy boundaries find clarity, and embolden you to lead the life you want to live. My hope is that you will leave our sessions feeling seen, heard, and understood.
I am LGBTQ+ affirming and enjoy working with clients of all ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Through my experience with survivors of intimate partner violence, family violence, and childhood abuse in the DFW area, I am knowledgeable about community resources beyond the four walls of the therapy office. Whatever brings you in, I want you to feel comfortable moving at your own pace. Together, we’ll work to uncover your strengths, develop practical tools to manage stress and emotions, and focus on what matters most to you. My hope for you is that through our work, you'll find the clarity, confidence, and resilience you need to live a life that feels more aligned with your values and goals. So take that first step and reach out—I'm here to help guide you on your journey!
Favorite Books
I love reading fantasy, romance, and thriller books. My current favorite series is Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass. I connected to its discussion of themes related to trauma, resiliency, found family, learning to trust, and overcoming adversity (and, of course, the action scenes and romance!).
For clients, I usually recommend Self-Compassion by Kristen Neff or Set Boundaries, Find Peace by Nedra Glover Tawwab.
Hobbies
I love to read, bake, travel, and watch musical theater. I enjoy spending time walking my dog, Hank, and trying out new restaurants. Also, I am a huge Dallas Stars fan!
Funny Story
Growing up, my grandparents always used to play Elvis and I became obsessed with his music. I would often beg for them to play it so I could have a dance party. My favorite one I called, “A Munchie Cup”. It wasn’t until I was older, that I learned the song is actually called “I’m All Shook Up”. My family still refers to the song as “A Munchie Cup” to this day.
