Rebecca Flynt LCSW
Hi, I'm Rebecca Flynt LCSW. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain why they are experiencing intense emotions. Likewise, you may be unsure of what you need, but can recognize that something isn’t working. Therapy gives us a place to untangle those internal knots and create space for clarity, growth, and healing. I’m honored to be trusted as a part of that process. Whether your child has big feelings they can’t quite explain, or you’re a young adult overwhelmed by uncertainty in life, I’m here to help make sense of whatever you’re facing.
I believe deeply in the power of human connection, and that pain, resilience, questions, and hope can co-exist all at once. Therapy should be a space where you can tap into that resilience, explore questions, and find healing. My therapy toolbox includes play therapy, mindfulness, narrative work, and trauma informed approaches. While using evidence based techniques, I always tailor my work to the unique person in front of me. We’ll build trust together, and over time, things that once felt too big to handle will start to feel a little more manageable. Healing isn’t always linear, and growth takes time, but you don’t have to do it alone.
Starting therapy can feel like a leap into the unknown. Whether you are just beginning your healing process or you have experience in therapy, I understand it can bring up a mix of emotions such as hope, anxiety, or even doubt. If you're considering therapy, whether for yourself or your child, that’s your sign to reach out today. You don’t need to have the perfect words or a clear reason to start. Showing up as you are is enough, call or text today to get started!
Favorite Book
It honestly is a bit hard for me to think of my favorite book. Other than required school work, I wasn’t really interested in reading as a kid, in fact I often struggled to find something that intrigued me and kept my attention. It wasn’t until I was a young adult that I realized I do in fact like to read, I just hadn’t found the right topics. In short, I am not an avid reader, but I do love reading poetry. It can be so beautiful and meaningful and say so much in just a few short lines.
One book I recommend to clients is: The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown
Hobbies
Being outdoors/in nature, skiing, baking, listening to music, exploring new towns and cozy coffee shops, going for a walk.
Funny Story About Me
Once, I proudly volunteered to pick up my grandma from the hospital after a routine procedure. I was feeling very responsible and supportive. But as soon as I walked into her room, I passed out. The next thing I know I woke up laying in a hospital bed next to my grandma. They had to wheel both of us out, and someone else had to come pick us up.
